Doctors Linton & Hackley Records ca. 1900-1910

Doctor C. E. Linton and Doctor R. P. Hackley were both physicians in Medaryville, Ind. in the early 1900s. At that time Medaryville was a booming railroad and commercial center on the west side of Pulaski County. Not only did the doctors serve Medaryville residents but also families in the surrounding community and in the adjoining townships in Jasper County. Doctors Linton, Hackly & other physicians made trips to the patient's home and later when time allowed these events would be entered into ledgers back at the office. Due to the condition of Pulaski County’s early roads, a round trip of 40 miles by horse & buggy, and later the automobile; these events were not always reported to the county Health Dept in Winamac. Several years ago, ladies from Medaryville who were interested in genealogy attempted to transcribe these scribbled and sometimes barely readable ledgers. This spreadsheet was created from those transcribed ledgers with added genealogical information.
